Subject: No Honeymoon!
It's always interesting when you stumble across similar movies made by the same company of a film that have gained a cult following. Perversion For Profit has Printed Poison, Design For Dreaming has A Touch Of Magic, and so on. Now you can add Once Upon A Honeymoon to that list, as Tom Dick and Harrriet is also a technocolor film made by the Sutherland Company for A T & T. It's also a musical. This time, where "Honeymoon" was about phone colors, this is about long distance. Unfortunately, this one, even though it stars Jim Backus (I wonder when this was made though?) is somewhat dull, despite the whizbang operator beginning. Harriet has two suitors, and must choose one. Luckily, one phones long distance and seals the deal. Backus has a similar experience about selling his farm. Interesting to watch, but Honeymoon is far superior.

Subject: Infimercial from the Past
AT&T had this made to push the novel concept of Long-Distance calling in the 50's. Produced by Jerry Fairbanks (former producer of short films at Paramount), it features Jim Backus, Rosemary de Camp, Ellen Corby, and a young Martin Milner. I love the ornate switchboard The Goldwyn Girls are 'working' at! Fun little frolic.
